Kompass · ChatGPT connector

Privacy notice

Updated 3 October 2026.

Operator and scope

Kompass is operated by Henrik Moen Johnsen. Contact: herkjohnsen@gmail.com. This notice covers the Kompass connector in ChatGPT and its public support pages. It explains this connector's processing separately from the website's account, payment and analytics features. For the connector, this notice takes precedence over the website's general privacy notice, including its statements about hosting location.

What reaches the connector

ChatGPT sends structured tool arguments needed for your request: municipality names or numbers, county, population bounds, recorded housing-price thresholds, distance from Oslo, school type, and whether recorded support schemes are required. The listing-card tool also receives up to ten public FINN home-listing URLs, their display titles and your display language. These are used to prepare a website handoff without fetching the listings or saving to an account. Municipality arguments are used to search public municipality records and assemble the requested response. Please do not include identity documents, passwords, medical information or private files.

The connector does not request a Kompass login or access your saved profile, payments or subscriptions. It does not fetch your entire ChatGPT history or memories. Information ChatGPT includes in a tool argument is processed as part of that request.

Purpose, storage and sharing

Tool arguments are processed in memory to answer the request and are not intentionally written to an application database or application logs. Shortlists are not saved to an account. The application caches only the public municipality dataset for five minutes. Your filters are not forwarded to the municipality API: the connector downloads public records and filters them locally.

We use Railway to host the connector and municipality API. Hosting systems process technical request information, which may include network addresses, request paths, status codes and timestamps, for operation, troubleshooting and security. There is no advertising or analytics integration in the connector, and we do not sell tool inputs or use them for marketing.

Retention

The connector has no persistent store of searches, chat messages or shortlists. Request inputs are used during processing; public-data cache entries expire after five minutes. Operational logs available to the operator have a seven-day history under the current Railway Hobby plan. Railway says plan upgrades can restore older log history, so seven days is not a guaranteed provider deletion deadline. Railway may retain technical usage records for service, security, legal and dispute-resolution purposes under its own retention policy; it does not publish a single fixed deletion deadline for all such records. We do not export these logs to a separate analytics service.

Messages you choose to send to the support email remain in the operator's mailbox as needed to resolve the request and follow-up issues. You can ask for deletion, subject to any applicable legal retention obligations.

Providers and international processing

The current connector and public API run in Railway's US West region. Processing is therefore not restricted to Norway or the EEA. Railway's Data Processing Addendum describes its processing and international-transfer provisions; its privacy policy covers technical usage information it processes for its own purposes. Railway's logging documentation explains the plan-based history window.

OpenAI separately processes your ChatGPT conversations according to its policies and your account settings. Visiting kompass.boo or an original source link is a separate website visit governed by that site's policies. The connector does not automatically sign you in to those sites.

Listing handoff on the website

When you open the save button, canonical listing URLs pass to kompass.boo in a URL fragment. The website removes the fragment before initializing analytics and keeps the pending links in browser session storage for up to one hour of use, so they can survive sign-in. Session storage remains until the tab session ends but expired selections are ignored. The button does not create an account or purchase a subscription. Existing account permissions apply. Only your explicit save confirmation sends listing URLs to the website API, which imports and stores the listings in your account under the website privacy policy. This is separate from the read-only connector.

Your controls and rights

You can disconnect Kompass in ChatGPT settings and manage ChatGPT conversation history through OpenAI. Contact the operator to request access, correction, deletion or other applicable data-protection rights relating to Kompass processing. As the connector does not maintain a user account or search history, we may not be able to link a request to a specific person. You may also contact the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, with a complaint.

We will update this notice if the connector's data practices materially change.
